Photo Chromakey
Chromakey is the technical term for green screening. Many of the scenes that seem impossible in the movies are done with chromakey. Remember the scene where ET and Elliott were traveling across the night sky riding their bicycle, in front of the moon? That was done with green screen. Several years ago, we visited Universal Studios theme park in Los Angeles and saw them recreate the scene with members of the audience. That was my first exposure to green screen where I knew what was happening. Now anyone with a camcorder or camera and some green fabric and the right software can do the same.
